4 травня 2026 року в межах міжнародного проєкту Erasmus+ DigiFLEd відбувся вебінар «Переклад і штучний інтелект: нові виклики та можливості», який об’єднав студентів, викладачів і практикуючих перекладачів навколо однієї з найактуальніших тем сучасності – взаємодії перекладу та штучного інтелекту.
Спікеркою заходу стала Мері Нурмінен, викладачка Університету Тампере (Фінляндія), яка поділилася актуальними дослідженнями, практичними кейсами та міжнародним досвідом використання штучного інтелекту в перекладацькій діяльності.
Під час вебінару було розглянуто етичні виклики використання AI у перекладі, вплив технологій на трансформацію ролі перекладача, принципи відповідального використання штучного інтелекту, а також питання якості та надійності AI-перекладу. Окрему увагу спікерка приділила екологічним аспектам застосування AI, зокрема споживанню ресурсів і вуглецевому сліду цифрових технологій.
Учасники також обговорили проблеми упереджень у перекладі, пов’язані з гендерними, віковими та іншими стереотипами, питання володіння мовними даними та особливості їхнього використання у процесі навчання й професійної діяльності. Важливим аспектом вебінару стало висвітлення підходів до викладання AI-перекладу та інтеграції сучасних технологій у навчальні програми для формування нових компетентностей майбутніх перекладачів.
Захід став платформою для активної дискусії, під час якої учасники поділилися власним досвідом використання AI-інструментів і порушили важливі питання щодо майбутнього перекладацької освіти, професійної відповідальності та ролі людини у світі автоматизованих рішень.
On 4 May 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ DigiFLEd project, the webinar “Translation and Artificial Intelligence: New Challenges and Opportunities” took place, bringing together students, teachers, and professional translators to discuss one of the most relevant topics of today – the interaction between translation and artificial intelligence.
The speaker of the event was Mary Nurminen, lecturer at Tampere University, who shared current research findings, practical case studies, and international experience in the use of artificial intelligence in translation activities.
During the webinar, participants explored the ethical challenges of using AI in translation, the impact of technology on the changing role of translators, the principles of responsible AI use, and issues related to the quality and reliability of AI translation. Particular attention was also paid to the environmental aspects of AI implementation, including resource consumption and the carbon footprint of digital technologies.
The participants discussed translation biases related to gender, age, and other stereotypes, issues of language data ownership, and the use of such data in educational and professional contexts. An important focus of the webinar was the teaching of AI-assisted translation and the integration of modern technologies into educational programmes aimed at developing new competencies for future translators.
The event became a platform for active discussion, where participants shared their own experiences of using AI tools and raised important questions regarding the future of translation education, professional responsibility, and the role of humans in a world increasingly shaped by automated solutions.
